have fun with unfun
unfun v2.0 is a site that provides a lot of .. aeh what was it that is provided there ... oh yeah, although the navigation is promising a lot, I could find mp3s there at least. Whole albums of american indie- and what they call progressive rock I think (e.g.: Tortoise). With regard to all these disputes about the illegality of mp3īs - itīs those sites who are introducing nonfamous music by audio samples - and thatīs just and reasonable. [link via usounds] |

|:::Springbreak
Though i personally would not take soft eggie humor a la monika too serious, their compilation cd Musik fuer's Wohnzimmer features some very fine tunes, tipo lofi 'ach, sie meine dicken gefuehle'. Like boiling 500 dag di spaghetti in a 5 litre pot.

Ladies and Gentlemen ...
the kollaborative fm4 WeblogSystem They did it last night. The new fm4-channel is online now and itīs great - no, itīs more. It is an admirable trial to establish weblogging on an "official" and commercial website. The wonderful design is from the very one, the basic system is Hannes Wallnöferīs hop and Stefan Pollach (fm4 radio-dj) pumped out all of it. They demonstrated the author-editing-system to me some weeks ago and I tell you, itīs fantastic. Some (maybe ten or more) musicians, djs etc. (not only from Austria) and the station itself are doing weblogs based on the same system and they are centralized on fm4.orf.at. Thatīs it. And I hope we will get a lot of fine information out of it. I am really looking forward to. |

Love will survive EuroRanch +EuroRanch killing softly+
First because miss Courtney Love's Hole probably won't get linked by us within the next decade (as makotter and me do not intend on buying up Geffen). Second is Courtney will soon lose her last bra. Will Chuck D have to sell his family jewellery ? |

Is EuroRanch also killing musicians?
Truely written on theonion.com: "MP3 piracy of copyrighted music claimed another victim Monday, when the emaciated body of rock-rap superstar Kid Rock was found on the median of La Cienega Boulevard." And the very very worried president of the Recording Industry Association of America asks: "How many more artists must die of starvation before we put a stop to this MP3 madness?" [link via nylpm] Jesus! Who will die next? Metallica? Eminem? |

log supreme
This one goes to Mr. Bratwurst for the +++n area static section. Wonderful ! Getting sort of tech <-> style fetish, here's the ultimate in gear - multimonika, from Electronic musical instruments from 1870 - 1990. |

El Mariachis
Calexico has not only been the good concert as expected yesterday, they also presented a big surprise after some songs: Five mexican Mariachis enriched the band for the rest of the concert. All in all there were about three horns, a voilin, a vibraphone, pedal steel guitar, contrabass, drums, guitars etc. - a lot. And I tell you, they produced some sound and a fat drive. Of course it was some kind of show for the audience, but it was a good show. [review] update: Still fascinated by Calexico. Found an excellent sample from their last album "Hot Rail": Ballad Of Cable Nogue [LoFi | HiFi] |

Calexico and Freakwater - Today at Szene Wien
Calexico is - on the one hand - a town at the border of California and Mexico which is called Mexicali in Mexico. On the other hand itīs one of the greatest alternative tex-mex bands ever. One of the most famous artists in this band is Howe Gelb who is also playing with Giant Sand, OP8 or The Friends Of Dean Martinez. They have already been playing at Szene Wien and it was absolutely great then. Now they are presenting their third album "Hot Rail". Also playing: Freakwater, an excellent alt. girl-country band. Try this 16kbps prelisten and download some mp3s from the sounds. |

No Music Today, Twelve Points
While junior makotter is still wipin' his eye, it's me also on the mellow turn this weekend. Cause is after these little eggplants had outfoxed me several times, i got deeply pleased by japaneseo Shiro Taniguchi - short, sharp and brillantin. Linked me to some charming fitness exercise (got to improve my japanese encoding abilities urgently). Reminding me of my all time favourite illustrator in person of Jaques de Loustal (pic), not as web-adaptiv as Claudia's 5K beauties, but if you got a look into his "Un Ragazzo Romantico" -strongly recommended- you'll know why... |
