Gloomiest Band in Rock
A very fine hint comes from Geri again: Arab Strap, extremely atmospheric postrock with perpetual guitars, real drums, resigned vocals and adept synthies. I've selected some tracks from their last Singles By Arab Strap. All of them are absolutely great and will make this evening for me, when I am going to the goodbye-party of my best friend Jakob Ortis now, who is leaving to france for half a year. |

Djarma and Motorhumming (samples included) "two powerful and delighting bands are clearly influenced by the japanese experimental rock bands like the ruins, the boredoms, massacre and also by NakedCity - but they are definitely taking it further!" (mediatext). They are touring in Austria (?) at the moment. I haven't had stuff like this for a while. Get an impression! |

Big net demonstrating today
Reason for demonstrations is today's trial of Stephan Münz (self-html) against Symicron and their serial warning lawyer, who are sending out waves of written warnings against many websites in order to reclaim their trademark for "explorer" in Germany. Self-html is also linking to ftp-explorer, which Symicron is complaining. Stefan Münz, with financial help from Freedom for Links, is starting an offensive now against Symicron and the restriction of rights to link [more on heise.de in german language] [demonstration info] [donations]. |

Frank's Kingdom
For the next season of Diesel's commercial campaign Frank P. Stevenson will be the "shooting"-star. On his trashy-website you can learn about his brand new technique: To be in the picture and shoot it at the same time - assure yourself! I bow in respect. Also if you have got problems you can share them with Frank: "Dear King Frank, Why do I always fall in love with the wrong person? Mike" Frank's answer: "It's never the wrong person (only if it's a close relative, which can be kind of bizarre, if you know what I mean). No Mike, Make things go right! That's my advice to you." And that's the way to shoot girls and boys. Strike! |

Ganz übersehen: Ein Sportstück
In my postings about the Pudel Club here and on fm4 I have overseen that Rocko and Schorsch have produced the music for Hamburg's performance of Elfriede Jelinek's Sportstück. Mr Trishes pointed to the samples, available on loopnet.com. I have streamed that one that comes along quite impressive also without the play: [Rocko Schamoni & Schorsch Kamerun - "5 Sekunden Sommer Kreislauf"] |

Some Bluegrass for the afternoon
"One of a kind bluegrass from Austin, Texas. A band with a great musical chops and a healthy respect for the integrity of bluegrass as an American artform." That's what audiogalaxy says about Bad Livers and I have got nothing to add. [Bad Livers - "Farther Along"] |
