 Four albums and absolutely unknownI am talking about a marvelous band called Drunk. To Corner Wounds was their first longplayer, released 1998 and Tableside Manners is their newest one which did not succeed in coming cross the atlantic I guess. Unexcited hangover tunes with rumbling akkordeon sometimes. Gentle voices, great romantic melodies. Their label Jagjaguwar will definitely have to be explored more thoroughly. Melted snow That's what we all want here in austria in these days and that's what Saso is delivering with "Warmed Up". Melted Snow Records seems to be a small, cute label with one album (?) - the inaugural one I hope. Full mp3 files of "Warmed Up" are availabel on their flashy sites. Singing sex, dead mothers, everlasting calamity There is a new soulclub in town (Vienna). It's called hot chocolate and will take place once a month in the bar modern, with a main focus on southern/deep soul. Part I is today (20.3.) with resident DJ Karli "ich kann so klass schreiben" Fluch and guest DJ Mushroom. Part II (3.4.) will be done by Die Zeit-journalist Jonathan Fischer, supported by gospel-ecstasy-videos from Tennessee. Amen! |
