There is something in my head It's probably the weather that causes my headache, or those bad saturday afternoon tv series, or somebody has mixed intoxication in my beer yesterday. copyright infringement is your best entertainment value say negativland. they became famous with a parody of U2s I still haven't found in 1990. but not because the satire was so exciting no, because island records has instigated legal action against negativland (and their label SST which therefore went bankrupt) and has suceeded. negativland is a small group of musicians who have been working on their projects since 1980. they still believe that what they do is legally protected fair use of samples, as they use them for purposes of fair comment, parody and cultural criticism, which the copyright law specifically allows. more about their new satire stuff on their homepage. |
